      Hi,

re the above, can anyone tell me the specs for the 16gb sodimm's ? I tried CT16G4SFD824A 16 GB (DDR4, 2400 MT/s, PC4-19200, Dual Rank x8, SODIMM, 260-Pin) Memory but it wouldn't boot. Bad memory or wrong type?

      regards

Just for anyone else who might ask this question. I found the following work well

        Corsair CMSX16GX4M1A2400C16 16 GB (1 x 16 GB) Vengeance SODIMM DDR4 2400 C16 1.2V Memory

What threw me initially was that on boot up, the internal fans went to full RPM and I assumed that the bios wasn't posting.

I left it for about 5 minutes and then the system returned to normal state and booted ok.
There is no delay on subsequent boots. Perhaps the system needed time to reconfigure itself, who knows

It does need time to train the new RAM when it is changed. It's a one-time process, as you noticed.

Hey, I was experiencing the same issue with the Crucial CT16G4SFD824A 16 GB (DDR4, 2400 MT/s, PC4-19200, Dual Rank x8, SODIMM, 260-Pin) Memory. No matter how long I waited, it would never boot. This was weird because I even contacted Netgate and that's what they said they put in the upgraded models of the 7100. I did end up returning the Crucial stick and buying a Kingston KCP424SD8/16 OEM 16GB DDR4 2400MHz SODIMM Laptop RAM Memory Module and it ended up booting and working perfectly. I figured I'd add to the thread of ram modules that worked for the 7100. I am running 24.03-RELEASE with coreboot 01.00.00.20.
