      Ello all,
I have an odd HA deployment I want to know if it is possible. I have a pfSense router as my home router. From time to time I need to take it down for maintenance. I'm fine with loosing temporary access to the internet but I also use pfSense to provide many key network services like DNS, DHCP, HA-Proxy, etc for my local internal network.

My current main box is a four network interface QOTOM mini-pc. I'd like to see if it is possible to setup a pfSense VM (Linux+KVM+QEMU Hypervisor) to fail-over to when I have to take the QOTOM box down for work. I know the backup VM isn't going to have an upstream WAN connection and I'm fine with that.

Does anybody have any experience with a deployment like this?
