      Hi All

Newbie here to PFsense, dipping my toe in the water coming from Sonicwall land.

I have PFsense on a Xeon E3-1220 v5 box with a HP331T quad-port card and v2.4.5 of PFsense and running well so far.

Set up with Snort, two LAN interfaces with VLANs on top and one WAN interface with a public IP.

Everything seems to be relatively OK on LAN --> WAN traffic, I have a gigabit broadband line and can easily max it out in both directions from both LANs with <50% CPU with Snort Balanced rules running too.

However, having some very weird issues when doing LAN --> LAN traffic.

If I start a transfer from one LAN to the other, the speeds are only ~500Mb.

If I look at the traffic graphs, I can see traffic outbound on the source LAN and corresponding traffic inbound on the destination LAN.
However I also see the WAN traffic inbound side showing the same corresponding traffic flow pattern (WAN outbound remains near zero) and the WAN and destination LAN inbound traffic counts increase in tandem.
Almost as if the LAN-LAN traffic is somehow finding its way onto the WAN interface inbound too.

CPU usage is <10% so not choking here.

Has me stumped so hoping maybe I've just missed something really silly!

Any pointers or where to look greatly appreciated.

      Thanks in advance
      Paul.

        Update:
Looks like the NIC is buggered.

Threw PFsense onto another PC and a different second NIC and getting full 1Gb transfers as expected.

Put the quad-card into the PC and it refused to boot with it in.

        RMA time!!
