    sg-3100 strange interface status

      Hello forum, found a strange status in my port 3 interface.
      I don't have LAGG or anything like it.

      As we can see below, port3 is showing a "master" status.
      Port3 is connected to a Synology NAS.

      Is this a bug? This is new, it never happened before.

      dead on arrival, nowhere to be found.

        Rebooted the NAS and the master state jumped to port1 , which is a Desktop PC

          That isn't for LAGG/HA/etc, it's the Ethernet link "master" mode.

            From what I could understand, it's related to auto negotiation.. where the master could force the slave to negotiate from 1000baseT to 100baseTX for an example
            I didn't know about this master/slave thing in the auto negotiation process.
