I am considering getting a dual NIC box to host proxmox or similar.
Looking for somebody to share experience and feedback +/- of 2 NICs and also if there is anything special from pfSense router to set it up.

      Thx!

There is a chapter in the docs covering Virtualizing pfSense with Proxmox you should read.

I'm running pfSense on KVM which Proxmox is based on as well.
The only special setting I encountered is that you have to disable hardware checksum offload.

If you have only 2 NICs you may have to use VLANs. The only thing to consider with that is the network traffic, since you have to share network hardware.

What are you planning to use pfSense for in that application?

Actually I am not planning to use pfSense on this box, I wonder how it will be set up to use dual Ethernet

Well, there are a lot of options. You can connect any NIC to any internal Linux Bridge. You could connect them in a lagg. There are many ways you could use two NICs in a Proxmox host.
