General pfSense + L3 Switch/Routing best practices or guides?
-
New to prosumer networking, and I have a Netgate product and an L3 switch. Using pfsense solely as a firewall, with the aruba l3 switch as the work horse. Nothing super fancy for the time being, just some VLANs.
I have an ok grasp of the annoyances of OSI, but far from anything confident. Wondering if there are any helpful guides out there that may be nice to follow along with as I have fun on my adventure. The more idiot proof the better.
A couple I have found are https://greigmitchell.co.uk/2019/08/configuring-intervlan-routing-with-a-layer-3-switch-and-pfsense/ and https://engineerworkshop.com/blog/how-to-set-up-vlans-on-an-l3-switch-hp-1910-with-pfsense/
Thank you.

I no issues with either of those. There will be some variation in your own switch.
Just remember that you are removing pfSense as the filter between the VLANs. Any filtering you need there now has to be done using ACLs in the switch. That also means you now have two places to check for filtering rules when troubleshooting so be aware of that.
