Hi. I wasnt sure where to post this thread so I just posted it here.

A while back we got a new ISP with a greater speed, but the speed was actually extremely slow. After talking in mirc about this issue I was told that this was an "auto resolving issue" and that putting a switch between the ISP modem and PF would fix this, and it did. But I have since then come accross several problems regarding this. The speed drops when surfing, but not downloading, playing games or playing video of youtube. Restarting the modem used to fix the problem and after a week or so the problem was gone. It has now happened again, but nomather what I do it doesnt fix this problem. Restarting pf, computer or the modem does change the problem at all. I called my ISP about this and they said that the connection to my house had been stable for several months and that the problem lied inside the house. He had never heard of an "auto resolving issue" and he didint understand how putting a switch between the modem and pf would do anything. The only advice I got was to change the router, but I trully dont want that :P

The connection in my house is easy. Wall -> dsl telephone modem -> internet modem -> switch -> PF -> and two more switches and 6 computers. None of the settings in pf has been changed other than some NAT forwarding.

Could anyone help me with this? Thanks for all answers

          Could you elaborate on

The speed drops when surfing, but not downloading, playing games or playing video of youtube.

What speed drops while surfing? The speed of downloads you have running at the same time? If so, from what to what?  Its not clear to me what you are comparing with what.
