What is the purpose of groups on the netgate forum? I just joined the Rebel Alliance group, but what does this allow me to do?

@user_three I also thought about joining some groups, but don't understand what the perks of doing so are? :)

From what I make of it, Rebel Alliance members will never help members of the Galactic Empire group. Something like that.
