I get pfsense installed setup wan and lan. wan shows it is up and green but can't connect to internet. if my isp is a 10.0.0.0 ip then should i set my pfsense router to a 10.0.0.0 range would that help or don't that matter? any help would be greatly appreciated.

        Setting 'what' to 10.0.0 ? LAN ? WAN ? 10.0.0.0 isn't a valid IP address.

I advise you strongly not to change default settings :They work as advertised, and carefully crafted by experts. Think about this : nearly all SOHO routers a avaible on planet earth use these default LAN IP 192.168.1.1 and a 192.168.1.0/24 network an LAN. There is a reason for this.

You should connect your PC to the LAN interface.
As stated above : default settings have you connect right away.
A soon as you see for yourself that "it works" you can start modifying settings, knowing that you'll be able to get back to a working condition with a click.

No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
Edit : and where are the logs ??

Doesn't your ISP use DHCP? If so, that's what you should use.

PfSense running on Qotom mini PC
i5 CPU, 4 GB memory, 32 GB SSD & 4 Intel Gb Ethernet ports.
          UniFi AC-Lite access point

          I haven't lost my mind. It's around here...somewhere...

Don't forget to set the default gateway in the routing section. I recently had a similar problem with the WAN being shown as up, but LAN clients being unable to connect to the internet. It was because I had migrated the router from a different location and the old default gateway was still set.
