      Hi,

If I have a host on LAN running say Zoneminder or Home Assistant and I want to be notified if either of these are down.

Is there a way in pfSense to set it up?

      Thanks,

If it goes down by itself : stop using is.
Power issues : use a UPS, the needed sofwtare is often mail capable (when the power comes back).

Or ... (miss) use dpinger from pfSense. System > Routing> Gateways and "Add" a gateway == the IP of the device.

No "help me" PM's please. Use the forum, the community will thank you.
Edit : and where are the logs ??

          HI Gertjan,

Thanks for the pointer, I am just a tech enthusiast running pfSense at home. I did some Google search on setting up gateway monitoring and stumbled upon lots of literature on SNMP, NRPE as well.

As of now this is way over my head but let me read a bit and come back here with results and/or questions ๐Ÿ˜„

          Thanks again ๐Ÿ‘
