I just tried an experiment where I wanted to observe what happens when pfSense loses it's NTP server connection. On my network, pfSense normally provides stratum 2 and I expected it to drop to 16, when it's source failed, indicating it was undisciplined. However, even when the Internet connection was disconnected for over a half hour, pfSense still showed stratum 2. Does the change occur only after some period greater than a half hour? Or does it fail to change at all?

      I haven't lost my mind. It's around here...somewhere...
