Pfsense is a Firewall - i don't think that its a good Idea to put file-sharing on it - beside my personal thoughts I'm not aware of a package providing samba.

Pfsense works as a home router. Perhaps someone has already installed the Unix Samba package for themselves. For file sharing between home devices, I don't see the point in setting up a separate server.
          Many thanks!

the points in setting up a separate server:
-it's not a massive security risk
-it's faster, safer & easier to setup a new VM, then it is to fuck with your only way out to the internet
