Installing via serial- Can't get past choosing terminal

Hello,

The filesystem for my APU got corrupted so I am reinstalling. I select to boot from USB and it get stuck here:

I hit enter and nothing happens. Its like it is not reading keyboard input. But if I hit CTRL-ALT-DEL it reboots. So it can read the keyboard. I haven't had this happen before. Any thoughts?

I was using the keyboard I plugged into it..which allowed CTL-ALT-DEL but actually using the keyboard on the computer I am using the terminal worked.
