Squid traffic management question
-
What is the difference between "Overall bandwidth throttling" and "Per-host throttling"? How does squid manage the channel bandwidth?
-
Per-host throttling - each client(by IP) have selected bandwidth
Overall bandwidth throttling - all clients have one common bandwidth. -
Per-host trottlings * Clients = Overall bandwidth?
Can one client take all bandwidth?
-
- No
- No
Overall bandwidth limit ALL http traffic via squid.
Each client limit Per-host trottlings, if ( Per-host trottlings * Clients < Overall bandwidth ) -
So I have to decide if I want to limit Overall bandwidth throttling (a "channel" for all clients) or per-host throttling?

Use Overall bandwidth throttling.
Per-host set to 0.
