Shitty cable-internet and Multi-WAN
-
I have a fast but often unstable cable-internet connection. Also I have over wifi my neighbors DSL connection, which is slow but steady.
When my connection get loose it is often for an hour and within minutes the connection comes up and goes down again...
So my question is this, is there any way to have failover configured that it switches fast over to the dsl line but checks the cable connection for a much longer time to be stable and only then switch back to that? -
I'd try with changing the Gateway Group trigger level from default (Member Down) to Packet Loss or Packet Loss and High Latency.
Maybe you need to adjust/play with Latency and Packet Loss thresholds in Advanced Options for the 'shitty' Gateway.
The problem should be fixed by your ISP in the long run though. ;-)-Rico

Definitely get your ISP to check the installation, especially cabling from last amplifier to the house. Your modem should have a diagnostics page that tells you Downstream & Upstream signal levels & quality.
Modern Docsis systems should not be unstable is installed & configured properly.

Thanks, but I do this on a regular basis. It is not helping much.
What I have to do is changing the medium (Cable>VDSL). But then I have to get some ethernet cabling done before hand, which I don't know anything about.

Post your downstream & upstream diagnostic info, plus modem type. I might be able to help you point the ISP towards the real issue.

@pwood999 This is all I get https://filehorst.de/d/drHychia
But those technician tell me that the wiring is to old, so there is probably nothing they will do about it.
One is coming today. -
Cannot see any files. Just take screenshots of the modem gui pages
