I have several vlans set up on my pfSense box and I have set up numerous static ip addresses on each vlan (my wireless network having the most).

When I want a new device to connect and I do not know it's mac address, I disable the checkbox Deny unknown clients and allow the device to connect to the vlan and add its mac address and ip under the static mappings for the interface. Then I go and re-enable the check box for Deny unknown clients

The issue I am facing is when I do the above I get the below error in System logs:

/services_dhcp_edit.php: The command '/usr/sbin/arp -d '*ip address of network*'' returned exit code '1', the output was 'arp: writing to routing socket: No such file or directory'

What does this mean and have I configured something incorrectly?

Not sure if this is the correct sub-forum to be posting this in, however I have no idea what this error message is relating to. I have tried searching Google but have hit a wall

Any help would be very much appreciated :)

ip address of network ? is it a public ip? there is no reason to hide a private address
        anyway

        Ignore it as it's harmless.
it's basically saying "I can't remove that address from the ARP table because it isn't in the ARP table".

It’s a private ip address, was just being careful

If the error message means nothing bad I can live with seeing it in the logs
