      Hi All,

Hope someone can help. I've update my sg-5100 with Kingston 16GB PC4-2400 CL17 ECC 260 - pin Ram
When I ping it, I get an alarm. Eventually get a energy alert as well. Tried to reverse back to old card but no luck...

      Any ideas?

      Cheers

Where exactly are you seeing this alarm?

        Or the 'energy alert'?

If you fit bad RAM I would expect it to boot at all. Do you see it booting or even POSTing correctly on the console?

        Steve

Hmm, weird. I never seen (heard) that on the SG-5100 but usually systems will only beep like that if that cannot POST at all. I would guess just bad RAM.

@walter5623 Any recollection what was the issue?
I am hearing this exact thing after a hardware upgrade.

                Nevermind me.
Went Googling in a state of panick and should've been more level-headed.

I reseated the RAM and we're good to go.
                Sorry, everyone.

@gertjan In all seriousness, though, that's one of the loudest and scariest POST failure beeps I've ever heard.
