I'm noticing two fairly similar options to kill states for my WAN failover setup.
We have a VoIP phone system. If our main WAN goes down we need to to failover, but when the main WAN comes back up we don't necessarily want the phones to switch back right away as this could end calls in progress - I only want a forceful switch if the link dies.

      1. Under System>Advanced>Misc. there is a checkbox to "Flush all states when a gateway goes down."
This sounds like the better option to me, as the states should only clear when the main link dies but not when it comes back up. HOWEVER my question about this is... is it if ANY link goes down? If we're running on the main WAN and our failover WAN (which would not be in use) goes down.. will it clear the states anyway? I sure hope not as it seems pointless to do, but I want to be sure.

      2. Under System>Advanced>Networking there is "Reset all states if WAN IP Address changes."
This looks like a less-preferred option if I'm right about 1, but if 1 is going to reset the states when an unused WAN link goes down then I simply can't have that, and will instead just have states reset whenever we switch from one gateway to the other.

What is your recommendation here and can you say for sure that option 1 will only reset states if it's the active gateway(s) that go(es) down?
