I have a file, and a script that I want to persist with hardware migrations. Is the Filer package safe?

I have a sudoers use case (file) that is not covered by plugin configuration, and I have a script that I would like in place in /root w/ a chmod.

Can I make this happen? I always just ssh in, and implement it, but it would be nice, if I could migrate config, install a package, and click activate, and it is done.

      Any help here?

I know there use to be a commands package, I could just do some echos, and some chmods.

I know there is a patch package too.

I just need to do something simple. I clicked the github link in the package list for Filer, and it looks gone? What is the deal with that?

So I installed Filer on a dev box, and it looks legit. I think it will do everything that I need it to do.

I guess the big question I have, is how have packages been going. I remember the migrate to 2, and a ton of packages were lost. Is something like this here to stay you think, and why is the link to the github repo in the packages list bad?

github has a 1000 line limit:

took me a while, but it looks like there was a case sensitive change of the letter f.

          https://github.com/pfsense/FreeBSD-ports/tree/devel/sysutils/pfSense-pkg-filer

          vs

          https://github.com/pfsense/FreeBSD-ports/commits/devel/sysutils/pfSense-pkg-Filer

          So:

          https://github.com/pfsense/FreeBSD-ports/commits/devel/sysutils/pfSense-pkg-filer

          works fine

I just used the filer package, and it works great. I did a chown though, with the 'run command' piece.

I looked through the git log. I wanted to donate to whoever maintains this package, but it looks like pfsense devs do it now?

I messaged the creator, but no luck.
