speed tests do not match WAN live traffic graph
-
I have a 16x4 connection. Sometimes closer to 14x3 do to some variations, but somewhere between those two.
I notice that when I try to do a speed test, the traffic graph only shows 2.0Mb/s download and 500kb/s upload...almost on the dot. Even when I try to max out my upload using FTP (or similar) or using a download manager to download a large file, the PFsense traffic graph still shows those same caps. I know there is a conversion there, but it still doesn't match up.
However, the speed test screen on my wired computer shows 14+/3+ Mbps....and the FTP upload definitely feels like 3-4Mbps upload, not a .5Mbps.
So, I think my problem is reading the graphs....? Also, side note, I do have traffic shaping on, but again, I'm getting my speeds on the speedtest sites.
Thank you for your help!

Could you have mistaken bits vs bytes ?
That would account for a factor 8 - 16Mb(it) = 2MB(yte)/Bingo

Set the traffic Graph Unit size to Bits

Thank you both, yes that was it. Interesting, I hit the wrench icon to see if I could set that before I came here, but "nothing happened" so I tried another browser and still "nothing happened"....but it just opened quietly down below. In fact, if I clicked it an even number of times, it disappears, which added to my confusion as I believe I did scroll down one time to see if "maybe there was something lower down". Wow!Anyway, you guys are great. Thank you!

Sorry, one more thing the b and B do not change when you mouse over the graph if you change Bits to bytes, so I think that is not right...?
