2.5.0-DEVELOPMENT Back to 2.4.5 STABLE Possible?
-
Apologies if this has been asked before, I have looked around and couldn't find an answer
I am new to pfSense and love it, works perfectly in a VM on my HPE Microserver Gen10Plus and keeps my family safe.
Can I rollback to stable after upgrading to development?
-
Never mind. I backed up, rebuilt and restored so all is good.
-
With a VM you can just Rollback with a snapshot.
AFAIK there is no way in pfSense to jump back from 2.5 to 2.4.5-Rico
-
@Rico That assumes there is a snapshot
-
Yes of course.
At least before any major changes (like Upgrade to DEV versions) you should smash that Take a Snapshot button.-Rico

Yeah, I agree but I failed to do so as I wasn't sure I would use the product permanently. Having played around a bit and got pfblockerNG up and running I have realised what a great solution it is and have decided to use it permanently.

You should, ideally, restore a backup from 2.4.5 as well. There were some changes to the config format for 2.5.0 that are not backward compatible (like IPsec tunnel lifetime settings)
