      Hi,

In several forums and several network engineers I talked to, most of them will immediately shuts down PfSense as a core router in an ISP setup, regardless of the size of the network.

I am curious what is your take in this? Any unbiased opinions?

Mmm, immediately shutting down the core router at an ISP is likely to be...... career limiting! ๐Ÿ˜‰

But I assume you mean swap it out for something many times more expensive?

You're unlikely to get any unbiased opinions here but there are certainly situations where pfSense is unsuitable. It entirely depends what you're doing with it.

@stephenw10 I mean shuts down the idea of using PfSense as an edge router, peering with upstream providers, bgp, and such..

Well, as I say, you can use pfSense for that but that is not what was originally designed as.

            Have you seen TNSR? ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hmm, I think that's all automated so unless you used an email that triggered some spam filter I'd check our reply did not get filtered by yours.
