      Dear
I have problems with connecting to a Huawei HG8245 router/modem. This router is in router mode with DMZ to the pfsense ip4 wan adress. It has a lease time of 4 weeks for the pfsense ip4 wan. The pfsense is set to WAN dhcp. During the boot_up the WAN is not connecting and the log shows:
      "Nov 13 17:25:52 pfSense php-cgi: rc.bootup: The command '/sbin/dhclient -c /var/etc/dhclient_wan.conf igb0 > /tmp/igb0_output 2> /tmp/igb0_error_output' returned exit code '1', the output was '' "
The only way it connects is with a shellcmd at boot time with a "ifconfig igb0 down followed by a ifconfig igb0 up" than the pfsense box does a reconfiguration and after some time it is up and running. Problem solved? Not really! I have this WAN in a failover group and when this prim wan loses connection(packed drops ) the failover nicely switches over to the backup (4GLTE) wan(tier2). However when the prim wan is okey again( you can ping outside over it etc) you see that both wans are up but it doesn't switch back to the prime wan (tier1). Just issue a ifconfig down/up on the igb0(prim wan) switch the failover group correctly back to the prim wan. Also a renewing lease of the wan works. Therefore as a practical solution a cron run process every 10min that checks if both wans are up and the failover group is still on the backup It issue a ifconfig down/up on the igb0 interface.
I tried several advanced time setting in the DHCP setup og the wan to force extra DHCP requests but with no results. The dhclient showes the requests were correct and the /var/etc/dhclient_wan.conf shows the same as the other backup wan which has no problem with switch back and fort.
Anyone has some idea how to solve this problem?
