PS5 or XBOX Series X?

I´m really thinking hard about what console to get, i had the ps3 and then the xbox one and both were cool the xbox is the slightly better multimedia console whereas the ps5 has way more exclusive games like horizon and god of war. what is your take?

I had both Xbox one and PS4 pro and now Xbox series X. The series X is really nice. I love the design and it is SUPER quiet. It's hard to even explain how quiet it is. You won't believe it till you hear (or lack of hearing it) it for yourself. I have to put my ear almost on the console to hear it. That's how quiet the fan is. Really a nice design. I can't comment on much else since there isn't much to go on yet. It is super fast with loading times.
I agree with you, Sony's exclusives are the best. The only Microsoft exclusive I actually care for is Forza.
As you say, the xbox is the better multimedia, entertainment system. I do use my Xbox for just about EVERYTHING, TV, youtube, gaming so to me it was a no brainer. Also all my friends are on xbox live. So that was the biggest factor for me.
I have been a PS person since the very first one, but I personally HATE the playstation user interface. It feels like it was created in 1990. It is too rigid and really doesn't even let me create shortcuts to the apps I use most. Really man, it's 2020 why do I have to go into a menu which loads so super slowly just to have to scroll past 5 other apps I don't care about to get to the one I do? I have to do that every time so it got to the point that I no longer turn on my PS4 unless I have a game I want to play which is super rare. So it sits and collects dust more than anything. The main reason I got the PS4 pro was because it paid for itself back when PS VUE was around. I loved that service but Sony seems to kill off things people actually like but keeps horrible UI's around.
Sorry, my rant is over :)
Edit,
I forgot to mention the other huge factor I love in favor of the xbox is the backwards compatibility. I love that I can play, xbox one, xbox 360 and even original xbox games on my series X. That is awesome. Sony missed the boat on that from what I understand.

Thanks Raffi for your really great input! That was really helpful. I think I will go just with the Xbox, because I like the design way more than the one of the ps5 (Eventhough it also looks amazing)
I just prefer the multimedia system of the xbox. On which television do you use your devices? I need a new tv and I'm still not sure which one I should get. I found a homepage with a few informations (https://www.kaufberater.io/fernseher-test/) it is in german but if you don't understand it, just translate it with Google Translate
Which of the tvs can you recommend? -
What TV are you using? Is there a bang for the buck for TV?
I'm planning to buy a PS5 or a Xbox, I'm spending a lot of time in home..
Do I really need the HDMI 2.1 ? -

Which of the tvs can you recommend?Unfortunately, the TV models between US and EU appear to be different. Although the Samsung models are most likely the same, the model numbers are different so it is not easy to compare. I am still using my old Samsung LCD from nearly 10 years ago. It was a very nice high end TV back then (240 Hz if I remember correctly) and still looks great today. It does not have any fancy new features however. I personally would like to get a newer TV at some point with HDMI 2.1. Here in the US we have more reasonably priced TCL brand TV's which are rated well. I would likely buy one of them when the time comes. I don't care as much about the 4k, but everything I read and even my friend who has a newer TV and a series X tells me that HDR really does make a big difference.
I personally would stay away from the LG OLED TV's for gaming. They are rated very well as the TV's with the best picture quality. However over time they can have "burn in". I have experienced that with an old phone of mine and I don't want a TV with that same potential issue, especially since I will be playing games on it and certain HUDs and icons might stay static for a long period of time.

Do I really need the HDMI 2.1 ?Yes, here in the US the best bang for buck TV's seems to consistently be TCL brand TV's. They are rated up there with some of the best at a much lower cost. TCL I believe is a Chinese brand, but then again I would think most TV's are made in China anyway. One thing to look out for with them is the software they are running. Some of them run Roku and some of them run Android. There was an article recently about the Android ones having a pretty big vulnerability. Although, like just about any IoT device those kinds of issues will come up so it's best to isolate your TV or any other IoT device from the rest of your network.
Edit, my old TV is a smart TV but it's so outdated I don't even connect it to the network since I'm sure it's full of holes.

Thanks Raffi, I'm still thinking about it.
I never saw this brand TCL here, maybe because I don't pay too much attention. -
