New install - Default creds accepted but stays on login screen
-
Just a background and to try to give as much info upfront.
Installed on ESXi 6.5, OS set to FreeBSD 64bit, memory reserved of 1Gb, 1 CPU. 4 network connections. em0 configured as WAN, em1 configured as LAN, em2 configured as WAN BACKUP, em3
pfsense installed from ISO pfSense-CE-2.4.5-RELEASE-p1-amd64.iso
Issue:
The logon screen allows login with default credentials as the console confirms by the messages of successful login and the firewall does not say the credentials are incorrect. The page simply does not move into the configuration screens. -

Hi,
don't be so stingy
but give it more to eat for him, ... min. 2CPU 4GB, but even better 2 CPU 8GB -
@DaddyGo
Thanks for real quick reply. After re-installing 5 times I have found it does not like chrome even though it did before WTF. Browser wars. Oh well if it isn't web based it will prob use some form of client with Java, cannot win :-(.True about the RAM, I'll increase a bit. I'm trying to setup in a small environment to see if I want to go actual hardware route. Lots up in the air as need to do IPv6 routing for internal preferably with OSFPv3 as that is all that my core switch supports as well as getting HA setup, setup CARP using a single public IP address (I believe I can do this if I have a switch in between WAN interface and WAN modem and have aliases or something on the WAN).

pfSense also to run upon relatively low-performance "iron",
but don’t think that, we can to strangle into a VM environment which is only(1CPU / 1GB)
OSFPv3, hmmm, if you want fast routing you have to increase the performance (definitely)
