So I think a large attraction point for Unifi gear is their controller and ability to manage all of their devices from a SPoG. One place to go to manage everything.

I feel like this is a capability that would really take pfSense to the next level. pfSense would have to partner with network device makers to integrate management capabilities for those devices right into pfSense. So you by a switch, an AP, etc., and instead of using the switch/AP's management/controller interface, you use pfSense's -- a single pane of glass.

I am wondering if this is something pfSense has considered and/or made a decision on? I can understand if this is not a direction pfSense wants to go -- but I'd be curious as to why?

      Open to any thoughts/discussion.

Netgate proposed such a system a couple of years ago.
I remember a poll how much users were willing to pay for such a service.

I guess it wouldn't generate enough money for the amount of work it would take to develop it

@heper I see. Interesting. I'll see if I can find the poll. I mean if folks are willing to pay a premium for Unifi gear, you'd think they'd be willing to buy cheaper (but just as good) gear and pay more for pfSense. I know I would. Interesting.
