      Hi folks,

      I just set up my first pfSense box and replaced my router, so please bear with me.

      Original setup:
      Verizon ONT -> WAN of G1100.
      LAN of G1100
      -> clients
      Wireless AP of G1100
      -> wireless clients

      New setup:
      Verizon ONT -> "WAN" of 2 port network card on a Proxmox server.
      "LAN" of 2 port network card to
      -> Gigabit switch
      -> clients
      -> LAN of G1100 (w/DHCP server turned off)

      I've done this to keep using the G1100 for wireless clients. I have a cheapo wireless AP around here somewhere but in the past when I did a speed test, the G1100 beat out the AP. Things are mostly working well except for the guest network I enabled in the G1100. For some reason, wireless clients that try to connect to this network get no IP addresses.

      I believe I have a gap in knowledge here as to how G1100 provides this network. My naive 1st take was to create a VLAN on pfSense which provides a DHCP server for the original guest network's 192.168.200.0/24 range. This doesn't seem to work, clients still get no IP addresses.

      Any ideas on how to get the guest network working? I was trying to keep the original functionality of the G1100 as I like that it separates the 2 networks and prevents the guest network from communicating with the main, though I'm not certain this would actually work this way with my new setup, since G1100 is not doing the routing.

      I apologize if this has been covered already but my searching did not turn anything up and it seems like a rather specific situation. Would appreciate any help. Thank you in advance for reading.
