Hi, I am installing pfsense using the AWS AMI (version 2.4.5-p1)
The initial launch form only allows me to select one subnet in my VPC. Should I select the public subnet or the private subnet for the installation?

Generally AWS only give you a private IP which they NAT a public address to.

Unclear what you're asking here. What are you planning to use pfSense for?

Hi, I have been trying to set up PFSense as a proxy firewall for ec2 instances so as I understand it would have 2 network interfaces, one external with Internet access and one internal facing.
I think I have found the solution as I was trying to add the 2nd interface that was from a subnet in a different Availability Zone; once I used the same availablity zone I was able to select the public interface during the initial launch then add the private internal interface after the launch.

Ah, OK. Yes that sounds correct.
