Public IP

  • How can I assing Public ip to my client without using private ip's or Nated ip I just want give them directly public IP justl ike dsl cabel does is there way I can do that please give me hint thank you again

  • To do so you have to use routing and shut down NAT. You have to do the subnetcalculation accordingly to do this and then enable advanced outbound NAT at firewall>nat>outbound. Then delete all the rules that are created at the bottom of the screen once you enabled it.
Another way to give them a pseude public IP of their own is to add VirtualIPs to your WAN and 1:1 NAT them to the private IP you gave to the client. They'll then have a private IP at their end which maps to a public IP exclusively.

how can i do routing I am not that good on networking so just starting out … if you can give me hint where Do i go I mean which tab on pfsense I go to do routing also Can i use dhcp forwarder and how can i do that thank you again

  • Oh, and another option you have is to use pfsense as transparent firewall. This way you wouldn't have to mess with routing/nat or anything. There is a nice tutorial how to do this: http://pfsense.com/mirror.php?section=tutorials/transparent_firewall/transparent_firewall.pdf
