      Hello,

I recently acquired another Netgate appliance, and I have been having difficulty getting it to recognize any IP address. The device has locked on to 0.0.0.0 as the WAN IP address, and I cannot get it to change to the correct address from my ISP.

I have not even gotten to the point where I am able to set up my LAN (besides the LAN IP) or a VPN yet. I need to get it to see the Internet first. I went through the troubleshooting sections for network connectivity on Netgate's website but nothing fixed the issue.

Please let me know what my alternatives are. I've dealt with other Netgate devices before and have never experienced this problem.

      Thank you!

Does the WAN show a link to the upstream device? Link LEDs correctly lit? Status > Interfaces showing correct speed and duplex?

What sort of WAN connection is it? DHCP? PPPoE? Is it cable modem, DSL, wireless?

If it's DHCP does it pull an IP of you connect it to some local dhcp server, like another router?

Is it possible there is an IP conflict between the WAN and LAN, or another local subnet?

        Steve
