Hi all, happy new year. Don't know if this is the place to ask but I'm looking to build a custom function for pfSense. The plan is just to have packages inside a few IPS's like Snort or Suricata that have threat levels that range from low to high and just adjust them based on a website that lists the current cybersecurity threat level. I'm wondering what the best approach is to get this done, how I would run this (I'm thinking regular intervals of around 6 hours?) and what programming language would be best to do this. I'm guessing that Snort and Suricata have text files that house the data so changing it wouldn't be that hard but I'm not sure. I'd figure I'd ask here for the best approach before I go and waste time doing something that's not possible. Thanks all.
