XG-7100-1U Uplink SFP Ports instead of ETH2 Port
-
Dear readers,
I am migrating from a SG-8860 to my new XG-7100 but really am stuck.
I run in almost default 802.1q VLAN mode
It is all working fine with the ETH2 Port connected to a port on the Unify Switch.I do have working connections between the 2 Uplink SFP Ports to the Unify SFP ports, but no traffic routed over it.
I want to remove the ETH2 Port to Unify Switch port cable and use the 2 Uplink SFP Ports instead.
Any advice on how to do that.
Thanks, Paul

You can do that easily enough if the links are UP.
Are the SFP ports configured as a LAGG to the switch? If not you probably want to use just one.
Just reassign the LAN from lagg0.4091 to ix0 (or ix1).Be sure you have access to the firewall via some other method when you do that though. It's easy to get locked out re-assigning the LAN.
I would at least make sure I had console access to roll back the change if required:

@stephenw10 Thanks Steve, a bit delayed reply, but I got it working thanks to your help.
I finally seem to start understanding the XG-7100 with the lagg and switch setup. I really was struggling with it. But great flexible concept.
One more question.
If I assign the LAN interface to the ix0, it works fine.
However if I create a VLAN using the ix0 as parent interface.
And then assign that VLAN to the LAN interface, it stops working. For info, I connect the ix0 to a Ubiquiti 48 port switch.
Can you please advise.
All the best, Paul

@paul-netgate
Update: dear Steve I got it resolved. I had to assign the right port profile to the Ubiquiti switch port.
Thanks again for your help and have a nice day.
Best, Paul
