      Hi All,

I currently have a single broadband connection connected to my WAN port on my PFSense box on VLAN 2122.
I have another broadband connection that is connected in another building (about 200 yards away) that is connected to a switch on VLAN 2126 and this switch is connected (by fibre) to my core switch in my building.

I have trunked the VLAN 2122 and 2126 all the way to a switch that the Netgate is currently connected to Port1: VLAN 2122 Port 4: LAN Vlan's.
I've configured port 2: VLAN 2126 and connected it to the OPT1 port on the Netgate.

As it's a PPPOE connection I've provided the login details on the interface and checked the dial on demand mode check box.

When i check in system, routing I see WAN2_PPPOE on interface WAN2 but with a gateway of dynamic. WAN_PPPOE which is connected to the WAN interface however has an IP address assigned to the gateway even though the interface settings have the gateway set to be dynamic too.

Would the fact that there's no IP address listed indicate that the second broadband connection hasn't in fact connected ?
Is there a way of checking this ?

      thanks in advance.

Yes it would show a gateway IP if it has connected.

Check the systemlog or PPP log. It will shows the PPP connection attempts there.

You would not normally check the 'dial on demand' box there though if you have permenant connection on it, which "broadband" almost always would be. What exactly is that other connection?

        Steve
