(SpaceX) Starlink internet service

Is anyone currently running Starlink for their internet service?
If so, are there any considerations to using their CGNAT.I was invited to their Beta program but just doing some research before I commit.

If you're behind CGN, you can forget about a VPN or other direct access to your network. I expect they'll be offering IPv6, which means you should have lots of public addresses.

You should be able to use an OpenVPN client behind their network ok..
Good luck! We are trying to get on board asap for a site due to the lack of anything else available..
That said.. please report back.

Yeah, like WireGuard to AWS, or something similar, and connect back in through that if you need to. Some additional expense to do that obviously.

Yes, I have Starlink running on pfSense 2.5. Currently I'm working on getting my gateways setup so it will automatically failover from Starlink to my old DSL. Starlink has been fast but inconsistent so far. I also have an issue where pfSense will not lease and address on Starlink via DHCP until you reboot pfSense.

Thanks for the info. I have my "dishy" but am waiting for them to ship their "pipe mount" as I have to use a mast to clear the valley of the pines I live amongst in the Sierras. I've considered keeping my current ISP online for a while, but until I see some stability numbers on my own system there will be no way to make that call.I'm retired, so I really don't have a need to VPN back to my system.
There is a young Canadian gent on YouTube who is doing some Starlink/pfSense stuff.
I wonder if we could get a Starlink section here on the forum?
