Ye' old 2 xboxes on one network problem happens again
I feel like I keep having to deal with this problem at least every couple years. I put in a PFSense box for a friend and of course her two son's each have an xbox. I did the usual UPNP, and Hybrid NAT stuff. Both xboxes show open NAT and multiplayer works fine on every game......except for For Honor.
With For Honor whoever gets on first can connect just fine, but the second person isn't able to join. They took their xboxes over to their dads tonight and apparently it worked fine over there, so something in PFSense isn't behaving.
I have UPNP open on port 53-65535 for both boxes, I have NAT set to pure NAT, and I have "Enable automatic outbound NAT for Reflection" enabled.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, or even a clue on how to begin troubleshooting.
@skysurf76 Official response from Ubisoft on their forums...."Hey there, thanks for getting in touch! I'm sorry that you are running into this issue. Due to technological limitations two players are only able to play from the same network if one of them invites the other. Please keep in mind that you will have to complete port forwarding to the system that is the host, although I imagine you've already done so. Here's an FAQ with the ports, just in case.
Alternatively you both can play if you get invited to groups by people outside of the local network. "
Their explanation doesn't make any sense. They took their xboxes to their dads and it magically worked fine, unless the kids did something different with their sequencing as to how they grouped up. I'll interrogate them soon.
