Systemlog painfully slow with 2.5.0

After updating from 2.4.5_p1 to 2.5.0 the system log is very slow in particular the firewall log. I still have it set to 2000 logs that was no problem with previous version but now it's loading around 10 seconds until you can start to use it. Was happy about to increase the log count up to 200K but that is unusable in this state.
