Post your experience upgrading XG-7100 to 21.02

I have an XG-7100 1U and have been holding off upgrading it to 21.02 especially given the issues with the SG-1100. I'd like to use this thread to find out if anyone's upgraded their XG-7100 to 21.02 and how it went. It would be helpful if you include a list of plugins you're running. Thanks in advance!

That issue is with the SG-3100.
I've upgraded the XG-7100 numerous times in testing and not seen any issues. That's with a tortuously complex config on there too. Nor am I aware of anything model specific that affects it.There will likely be point release to address the SG-3100 issue you may want to hold for.

Hi,
We have 2 Netgate SG7100 in failover with dual wan.
We upgraded to 21.02_p1 . and we got a few issue :
- Port forward : there is bug regression on dual wan (https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/11436).
- On the failover part, when we activate the WAN interface on the standby netgate, we start to loose packet on the gateway till reaching a 99% and a load average upper than 10%. When we stop the WAN interface on the second netgate, the packet loss disaspear on the active Netgate.
We downgraded the version to previous version (<21.02) . and all is working fine.
On other part we have a SG7100 in failover without dual wan => No issue , all working fine.

What sort of WAN connection? What is the gateway monitoring set to?
Are you seeing that connection failure on the Primary when connecting the WAN on the Secondary?
That sounds like a conflict. Though I'm not aware of anything that would appear in 21.02 and not 2.4.5 like that.Steve

@stephenw10 Hi,
The WAN is fiber connexion for both of the internet connexion, the gateway monitoring is set the DNS of the provider.
When activating the 1 wan interface on the standby netgate, I get packet failed due to the CPU and then the load average growing up on the netgate. when i desactivate the WAN the CPU slow down, and all come back quietly.
I was thinking it coming from the switch part, and I reconstruct it on the second netgate, stil the same.
what i don't understand, is when i make a packet capture on the trouble wan interface, i get only broadcast from the LAN interface, ( no promiscious mode) and no VRRP , no connexion from IP public, etc..
All the wan is connected directly to the ISP router.
thanks
