      I have the printer set to a static IP address outside the DHCP range. It shows up on my Unifi Network device map just fine. I am able to print throughout my LAN. The screen on the printer shows that it is connected to the static IP address, and I can type the IP address onto the browser and bring up the Epson screen.

      But, on the pfsense Status-> DHCP leases, it sometimes shows as online, sometimes as offline. I cannot figure out why this is so.

        @larryjb

        Is it going into power saving during those times?

          That's what I thought, so I checked the Status->DHCP Leases immediately after printing and it was still "offline". Oddly enough, my Epson R3000 which I haven't printed from in over a day is showing as "online", but the WP-4530 is "offline".

            This seems to be an "Epson" thing. I can specify a specific IP address from the Epson printer itself.

            My Epson R-3000 is finally showing as offline after 3 days of not using it. I had a heck of a time even getting the Epson WP-4530 to show up on in pfSense, even though I could type the ip address into the browser bar to access the printer directly.

            It's as if Epson and pfSense don't really like each other, but they still let each other work.

            So, anyone with an Epson printer experiencing a similar effect, or have I got some settings incorrect?

              And magically, both Epson R3000 and WP4530 show as online now, even though I haven't used them. Strange behaviour.
