In my new location, where there's no competition so only Spectrum is available, whenever there's an issue such as slow down or packet loss, I have to waste a considerable amount of time explaining that I'm not on wifi, I'm not using a toy $50 router/firewall, etc, and tools like traceroute let me see where packets are delayed or getting losts, etc.....

I'm wondering if there's a decent package that will run on my netgate box (3100) that can perform useful analysis that I could use when interacting with these guys as opposed to just accepting that they'll "send a technician" who will of course find nothing wrong inside my network.

I tried the Traffic Graph stuff that's built-in but didn't find it that useful beyond showing me overall speed.

I found various references to RRD and tried that but that seems to only provide an overview of how much data is coming in.

      Thanks,
      D
