SG-5100 Upgrade failed, pfSense not loaded

Upgrade to 21.02 through gui showed "failed". gui unresponsive. Booted into terminal. Multiple "unable to load dynamic library" errors and fatal uncaught errors. Terminal will let me log into BSD; prompt shows [21.02-RELEASE] but box does not respond to pings. Don't have the usual setup menu in terminal to configure ports.
Can I a> load pfSense from scratch to at least setup ports and b>reload config from cloud? How?
Have second 5100 and not going to try update until I can get the first one operational again.

I can access the /conf/backup/ directory through the console. There are 4 xml backup files with the time of the update attempt, shown below. Will one of these work to update the config of my working, backup 5100? Any indication as to which I should use?
