I have an SG2100 and also PFSense on a workstation for comparison.

Out-of-the-box the SG2100 LAN ports are all one subnet. I see how to change that.

However, on installation this is not the case on the workstation.

I looked around the SG2100 config about the features I understand (as I learn PFSense) but I cannot see what feature is being invoked in this out-of-the-box setup.

      Can anyone explain? Thanks.

The 2100 has a switch, to which the LAN ports are connected. Likely in your PC you've just added two network cards.

the 2100 setup is similar to the 3100:

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

@teamits Yes, four-port network card. D'oh, pretty obvious ;) Thank you for clarifying, friend.
