how to forward devices ip behind second wifi router into pfsense lan NIC
-
Hello
I recently created a second lan and connect to it my wifi router to redirect my mobile traffic through the pfsense box.
is there a way to "forward?" my mobile / iot devices ip behind the second wifi router (192.168.x.x) directly into pfsense lan2 ip / gateway (10.8.x.x) so that I can see which device generate which alert from snort / suricata / pfbloker?
Because now i get all alerts from one ip.

@b3gin3r Put your second wifi-router in ap-mode.

I check it and it should work.
Using an External Wireless Access Point
But i have old router and it hasn't such features.
I found another thread how to achieve this and it work somehow :)How to use a consumer wireless router with pfSense
Thanks for the answer :)

Any wireless router - ANY, and be just used as AP regardless of its features. Connect it to your network via one of its lan ports. Turn off its dhcp server - there you go AP.
Set its lan IP to be on your network for easy access to the routers/ap gui.. And make sure your not using a guest network, or AP isolation that prevents wireless clients from being bridged to your lan network..
This has worked since the very first wifi routers.. Way back from the 802.11b days..
