Hi, I'm currently running my pfSense 2.5 on ESXi 6.7. I intend to migrate it to bare metal. What's the correct way to do this?

I assume I'll install pfSense on bare metal and try to import backup config file but I think this won't work as interface names are not the same (esxi exposes vmx interfaces while I have physical igbs and cxls).

How am I supposed to to this?

      Any helps is appreciated

      kind regards

When you import/restore the config file it should prompt you to assign new interfaces (e.g. assign WAN to igb0). You can also manually edit the .xml config file before restoring if desired.

To upgrade, select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings. When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to reboot, or more depending on packages, CPU, and/or disk speed.
Only install packages for your version of pfSense.
