Hello, I'm a french IT student and for my school project I try to do a Pfsense failover cluster with 2 nodes.

Have an issue with CARP failover and my VLAN interfaces. As you can see on this network diagram I use 2 physical interfaces.
    • WAN interface is connected to my router
    • LAN interface is connected to a gigabyte trunk switch port

All my virtuals VLAN interfaces are link to my physical LAN interface.
All seems to be corectly configured, the PFSYNC work perfectly and my CARPs interfaces are MASTER on my master node and BACKUP on my second node.

When I unplug the master node from my router to test my configuration, I have this issue :

    On my master node :

    On my backup node :

As you can see, only my physical WAN interface as switch... and not the other VLAN interfaces.
BUT, if I Temporarily Disable CARP on the first node, all my VLAN interfaces switch to the my backup node and I can acces internet with success ! but i did it manualy...

How can I fix that ? do you guys have this problem before too ?
Thx for those who will answer

Also make sure all the pfsense are not on persistent CARP maintenance mode.
