      Hi there,

My Netgate SG 2440 performed an in place upgrade from 2.4.5 P1 to Plus 21.02_1 but it crashes each time on a reboot with a "Fatal trap 12 page fault in kernel mode". I tried reinstalling the software using the factory pfSense Plus image but it crashes each time. I have attached a text file with the errors during a boot up sequence opfsense plus crash.txt n my terminal screen.

Downgrading to ver 2.4.5 P1 using a factory image and restoring via a config XML backup works. Well, with 1 glitch. The Package Manager doesn't allow me to install and download packages from the server. I need Snort, Sudo and pfBlockerNG.

Can someone please help? Thanks for any help in advance.pfsense plus crash.txt

      Regards,

      Viv

@nocling could you please advise me on what may be causing the kernel panic and reboots with Plus ver 21.02_1?

The downgrade to 2.4.5 (via the image) works perfectly other than the Package Manager not behaving as it should.

          Thanks and regards,

          Viv

Please ask the dev team, im a customer.

The Brach musst match the version you run, if you run 2.4.5p1, the brach musst be 2.4.5.

Then you can get Plugins for the 2.4.5 Version.
I think your brach is set to 2.5, you run 2.4.5 -> no Plugins available.

Hi, I have rolled back to 2.4.5 P1 set the branch to 2.4.5 and everything works as it should. Thanks for the help.

I am staying put on this version till Plus gets sorted. The post upgrade experience was unusually painful. Rather strange for pfSense upgrades which have always worked (near) perfectly all these years. I upgraded without a second thought in the past. But now I'll hold back for a while.

                Cheers!
