I have a reasonably stable 1.2Gbps cable service with comcast. I do get upwards to 900mbps while testing directly to the modem, and the maximum behind the firewall is 500mbps. I would believe for the test to be optimal, I would need to unplug all my LAN devices and connect a single PC to verify throughput.

Is there a way to do that without unplugging everything or disable all interfaces except one?

I trust you have a switch on the LAN side of pfsense. Just disconnect the switch from the LAN interface and replace it with a PC.

        I haven't lost my mind. It's around here...somewhere...
