      Hello,

I would try to install the OpenVPN client export package but the available package list is empty.

I tried to follow the steps in the Troubleshooting a Broken pkg Database, but I got the below error message. The other suspicious thing is that the System / Netgate Coreboot Upgrade looks like the below.

      Shell Output - /usr/local/sbin/pkg-static update -f

It is weird since it is a Netgate SG-5100.

The system is claimed to be up to date.

      2.4.4-RELEASE-p2 (amd64)
built on Wed Dec 12 14:40:29 EST 2018
      FreeBSD 11.2-RELEASE-p6

The system is on the latest version.

Any idea what is going on?

      Thanks a lot,
      Gabor

            Szia,

Igen.

                  @gaborforgacs " SG-5100."

Koszi.

                        Köszönöm a segitséget.

Has anyone manage to fix this issue ? Pfsense team seems to be silent on this. I guess many other people have this issue as well. This is an old post and I'm here because I have the same issue as well. I was trying to install Open Client Export but the "Available packages list is empty" How can we proceed to install it if this has not been not fixed yet.

                            I have Netgate XG-7100 with 2.4.4-RELEASE-p3 (amd64) on it.

Appreciate if anyone or pfsense folks solve this and clearly explain to solve this issue.

A pfSense Netgate team member would probably have said :
Please update your 2.4.4-..... as it is ancient.

I, just a user like you, add : when using very old version, you stick with very old issues. That the 'price' you pay when sticking in the past.
It was of course resolved, as I have not an empty packages list.
I'm using 22.05, latest stable Netgate pfSense.

Start by backing up your existing config to a safe place (or multiple places).
                                  Then i'd suggest :
Since you have Netgate hardware , that you get a new install image from them, and create a usb boot stick. Then via the usb stick, upgrade your box to the latest release.

I would also suggest that you use ZFS as your new filesystem, as it offers some exciting new functionalities in 22.05 ... Snapshots.

I can reinstall from scratch (w. hdd format), in less than 20 min.
Providing i have a working config backup.

If you find my answer useful - Please give the post a 👍 - "thumbs up"
