create separate Limiter for OPT1 (vpn clients)
I recently installed two limiters for WAN and bufferbloat score went from 'F' to 'A.' I have a basic home network with em0 (WAN), em1 (LAN), ovpnc4 (OPT1). Should I create two more limiters for OPT1 (using alias for 4 openvpn clients). I've read other threads where two new limiters were created with single queues (similar to WAN limiters) and others simply adding two additional queues to the existing WAN limiters. Not sure how to proceed.
based on this netgate forum post, I simply added the same WAN queues I was using in the Floating rule to the LAN rule for openvpn clients. I just reversed the order for the in/out pipes. I ran the waveform.com test and download speed increased 10% and 'active download latency' dropped from 129ms to 94ms. Significant improvement - I'm just not sure if this is the best solution for handling openvpn clients via traffic shaping.
