I have an SG-1100 that has been unused for about 2 years. It has version 2.4.4.RELEASE-p3 of the OS on it and seems to operate fine. But when I try to upgrade to version 21.02.1 of the OS ( which the system offers as the appropriate version to upgrade to ), the upgrade process gets as far as “ Please wait while the update system initializes “ and hangs ( forever ).

Well, I have to “eat my words” a little as when I was working with the unit, it was configured online but separated from my “real” network. Now that I have it connected in line with my “real network,” the SG-1100 says the OS is current and up-to-date (version 2.4.4.RELEASE-p3 is the latest version; the BIOS is a Nov, 2018 version). Is this the newest version for this unit? Is there an upgrade that I can perform to bring it into “today’s world” of electronics? Do I need to upgrade with a mirror image of something?

@kasteensma said in Upgrading the OS of a SG-1100:

take a look a this thread

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

Thanks very much ! Based on the thread, my upgrade went perfectly. I'm up and running with no downtime at all.
