      After upgrading to 2.5 using the upgrade interface in PFsense, I get a 504 gateway timeout and am unable to login. After awhile I have found out if I use an older url to get to other parts of the firewall, such as fqdn/firewall_rules.php . however, I cannot get to the system logs to check on the traffic going through it. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix the 504 gateway timeout or the ability to get to the system logs effectively, it would be a great help. thanks.

        Hi,

        If you have a copy of your config.xml, go for a clean install.

        You still have to login first.

          Is this related?

          What is the size of your log files? Are you using bz2?

          edit: Resetting the logs - seems to have sped up my login time for sure. I had upped the size of them quite a bit before the new rotation feature. I changed them back to default, reset them, disabled compression and login to main screen is snappier..

          if you want to keep a lot of logs - best bet is prob send them to a syslog server.

            @johnpoz

            Resetting the logs in the settings worked! Also fixed the login issue!

            Thanks
